"Bangalore Food Bank" Reaches Out To Two More Institutes For The Disabled & Destitute

Invite Bangaloreans to contribute to the noble cause


Bangalore, 18th September, 2007: Reaching out to the less fortunate through
"Bangalore Food Bank", Vakil Housing Development Corporation (VHDC) distributed 600
kgs of rice, sugar, 200 kgs of fruits and various stationary to multiple institutes
caring for the disabled, aged and destitute in Bangalore. VHDC aims to cross the
1000 kg mark by end November 2007 and the 2000 kg mark by mid April 2008.

"Bangalore Food Bank" aimed at bringing back the smiles on the faces of the needy,
works with the help of donors. Donors are given free jars of capacity 5kgs into
which the donor puts in a fist full of one type of pulse everyday. Once filled, the
jar would be picked up by VHDC. Donors could also pledge cash that will be used to
buy grains.

Apart from Donors' contributions Vakil housing also distribute seasonal fruits often
produced at the many properties they own. This season VHDC distributed 100 kgs of
mangoes and 400 coconuts grown at their properties.

At present VHDC Bangalore Food Bank has 60 donors who contribute to this humane
cause on a regular basis.

VHDC constantly strives to increase their donor bank and appeals to all responsible
and compassionate individuals to join hands in helping the deprived. Interested
donors can call 41193293 to be a part of 'Bangalore Food Bank' and rekindling the
hopes of the abandoned and poor.

"We are greatful to everyone who worked towards collecting these items for the
welfare of the street children. This indeed is a noble cause." says Fr. George,
Director Bosco Mane, one of the beneficiaries. This season Vakil Housing added
"Asaktha Poshaka" Sabha - home for aged destitute and orphan children and
"Samarthanam trust" for the disabled to their list of beneficiaries.
